* For a small mountain village tucked away in the Pyreneese mountains, Arinsal, and its neighbouring village of Erts, have over 20 hotels and aparthotels, numerous apartments - both privately owned or as part of a complex - and several rental agencies.
With this vast selection offering almost everything from "cheap n' cheerful" up to full-on, five star room service, you'd be justified in booking your holiday through an agency or tour operator just to save you the hassle of contacting them. But the internet has provided the consumer with another option - booking direct.
DIY holidays are becoming 'the thing' and it's arinsal.com's intention to make it as easy and as stress-free as possible for those who want to take advantage of this situation.
Although lots of businesses are slowly creating their own web sites, searching for them (more like finding them!) is becoming more and more time-consuming. Here, you've got the lot! Although you wont be able to book a Gin & Tonic, or reserve a quiet, romantic 'table for 2', you will be able to look into booking your accommodation.
When making your enquiry to hotels or apartments, you must be aware that there are slight differences between booking a winter holiday or a summer holiday - apart from the time of year! Summer holidays tend not to be a problem as far as availability is concerned (unless there's a huge plastic surgeon's convention or something).
During the winter season however, the vast majority of hotels and apartments have contracts with agencies and tour operators. Even if you contact a hotel 6-9 months in advance, they could still very well say that they're fully booked! Patience and perseverence are needed in these cases. Keep making your enquiry, possibly try contacting local agencies in case they have a contract with the hotel you're interested in, and don't give up!
